THIRTEENTH WEEK OF LEGISLATIVE SESSION
The Legislature spent most of the week preparing for adjournment but are expected to miss their targeted adjournment date.
Most House and Senate budget bills are now eligible for floor debate. Although final agreement on overall budget numbers hasn’t been reached, the two chambers appear to be close.
A few major policy issues remain unresolved, most notably property taxes and eminent domain for carbon pipelines. Both topics involve significant sticking points that will need to be addressed before the session can conclude.
At this point, the session is expected to continue for at least another two weeks.
LEGISLATIVE ISSUES
The Legislature has reached the stage of session where the focus shifts to preparing for adjournment. Nearly all budget bills are now eligible for floor debate, allowing leadership to quickly move them forward once a final agreement is reached.
At the same time, policy bills are being evaluated for support—or, in some cases, held in one chamber to encourage action in the other.
There was little movement this past week on ISC-tracked bills, and your voice is critical to keep them moving. Please take a few minutes to email your state representative and urge them to
bring these bills to the House floor for a final vote before they are sent to the Governor. We can close out this session with major wins for conservation so let’s keep pushing!

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD
Legislative activity on ISC-tracked bills was limited this week, as lawmakers focused on moving bills through committee and making them eligible for floor debate.
Here’s how ISC members can help:
This weekend, please contact your state representative—especially if they serve on the House Ways and Means Committee—and urge them to:
• Pass SF 424 to eliminate the celebrity deer tag
• Pass HF 2471 to set the lifetime fur harvester fee at $5
Both bills have strong bipartisan support and advanced through the process with near-unanimous approval.
With the legislative session likely to continue for a couple more weeks, now is the time for one final push to ensure these bills don’t get lost in the final days before adjournment.
Link to legislator forums across the state. Stop by and talk to your legislators about ISC issues!
